The Commission is committed to ensuring ongoing consultation is undertaken with industry and other stakeholders.
The Commission consults regularly with the Greyhound Industry Participants Advisory Council (GIPAC), as well as with key stakeholder organisations such as Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW), the NSW Greyhound Breeders, Owners and Trainers Association (GBOTA) and Greyhound Clubs NSW.
The Commission also conducts specific consultations in relation to particular issues or projects. Participants and stakeholders will be advised regarding upcoming opportunities to provide feedback.
GWIC Industry Participants Advisory Council
The GWIC Industry Participants Advisory Council (GIPAC) was established in 2021, to allow industry participants to provide greater input into the work of the Commission. The primary objective of the Council is to enhance the Commission’s engagement and collaboration with industry participants in developing policies and regulations.
The GIPAC's role is to:
Provide advice to the Commission in relation to the likely impact on the greyhound racing industry of regulatory and operational policies it has under consideration;
Provide advice to the Commission in relation to the likely impact of changes to rules, policies and programs under consideration and the effectiveness of the Commission’s delivery of services to the industry; and
Ensure that the industry has early engagement in relation to policy and rule changes.
The GIPAC is comprised of eight members with the chair to be selected by its members. Members must be current industry participants with experience and expertise adequate to enable them to represent the greyhound racing industry.
Members listed below were appointed by the Chief Commissioner under section 13(1) of the Greyhound Racing Act 2017 for a period of 23 months, commencing 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2024.
